Paris Stores launch initiative promoting circular economy and conscious consumption

Imagine a world where toys never end up in landfills. Where every broken toy gets a second chance to bring joy and laughter. This is the world that Paris Stores and Modulab are creating with their innovative initiative, 'JuguetexJuguete'. In a bold move towards a circular economy, Paris Stores is turning the tide on toy waste. With over 80% of discarded toys ending up in landfills, they have decided to step up and make a change.

Since the beginning of the campaign in 2019, and thanks to the contribution of customers, they have managed to repair 79,625 toys and recycle another 16,875 that could not be repaired. Just during 2020, 1,590 kg of toys were donated, of which 234.5 kgs were recycled and 584 kgs of plush toy textiles were reused.

In this new edition, the collected toys will be repaired by Modulab and then delivered to charitable organizations such as San José Para la Adopción, María Ayuda, Protectora de la Infancia, and Comunidad Juguete. The products that cannot be repaired will be sent to Degraf, a B company that will take care of their subsequent recycling.

We want the concept of reusing or recycling to continue raising awareness in the family, especially in the youngest, encouraging them and teaching them that extending the useful life of things is possible. These are still difficult times for everyone, and that's why we invite our customers to participate and be part of this solidarity cause," says Fernanda Kluever, Sustainability Manager of Paris Stores.

For the toys to be repaired or recycled, it doesn't matter the quantity or the condition they are in. The fundamental thing is to participate and give a second life to the toys that are no longer used.
