Paris Continues its Garment Recycling Program
RopaXRopa
Since its debut in 2013, the RopaXRopa program by Paris has achieved an impressive milestone: the collection of nearly a thousand tons of clothing, preventing these from ending up in landfills and contributing to the reduction of textile pollution.
For almost a decade, Paris has led the way in raising awareness about the importance of clothing recycling, inviting everyone to deposit their unused garments in the recycling bins located in our stores throughout the country.
This year, our recycling campaign will adapt to current health conditions. Only stores in communities in Phase 2 or higher of the Step-by-Step Plan* will participate. The bins will be conveniently located at the entrance of our stores to avoid crowding and ensure everyone's safety.
Our call is simple: give a second life to those forgotten garments at the back of your closet. Join this awareness campaign and contribute to the care of the environment. Starting this week and throughout the year, our bins will be available to you.
"We are proud of what we have achieved with Clothes4Clothes, because we know that more and more people are looking forward to this campaign to bring clothes and not throw them away. This change in mentality, looking for ways to transform and reuse, is very important, because we all must be part of the care of the environment. We are going through difficult, delicate times, but we have found a way to carry on, once again, the campaign with all possible safeguards," explains Fernanda Kluever, Sustainability Manager of Paris.
Over the past decade, Paris has led various sustainability initiatives as part of the Celestial Consciousness strategy. Our goal is to reduce our environmental impact and promote recycling throughout the value chain. Some of our initiatives include Long Life to Sneakers, Sweaters Forever, No Bag Please, No More Catalogs, Don't Print Your Ticket and ReciExchange, RepairLab, JugueteXJuguete, among others.
Importance of Garment Recycling
Clothing recycling is crucial. Recycled garments can be reused, reduced, returned or reused, transforming into new products, insulation materials, recycled fabrics or even donated to foundations and used clothing markets.
- Repurpose: Convert garments into new products, for example, cleaning items.
- Reduce: Break down garments into materials, for example, insulation materials for the construction or automotive industry.
- Return: Transform garments back into fabric, but now recycled, for example, cotton, polyester.
- Reuse: Insert garments that are in good condition, into foundations and used clothing markets.
Join us on this journey towards a more sustainable future. Your old clothes can have a new purpose. Recycle with us!
