Celestial Conscious Labels: Garments with less environmental impact

With a simple call to 'read the labels and change the way we shop together' and a total commitment to sustainability, Paris launches a new campaign of its sustainable strategy. The idea is to promote people's interest in checking the labels when they buy their clothes and choose according to the (lower) impact that the materials and manufacturing process generate.

This is a new step in the Celestial Consciousness strategy, a plan laid out by the retailer more than 10 years ago and which has been translated into other well-known campaigns in favor of environmental balance.

'We want to mobilize our stakeholders to commit to this cause. We have to step up the pace, with concrete and achievable decisions like this one. We have six goals for 2025, such as having 1 in every 4 customers adopt responsible consumption habits,' explains Fernanda Kluever, Sustainability Manager of Paris Stores.

The brands participating in this initiative are Tribu, Alaniz, Opposite, Aussie, Foster, Umbrale, Cyan, Greenfield, Rainforest, and Evoque. Some of the materials they use in their garments are organic cotton, recycled polyester, and tencel. In addition, some products have the Oeko-Tex seal, a global certification that guarantees that a textile - threads, buttons, and other accessories - is ecologically safe for humans.

Today, more than 40% of all Paris' own-brand clothing already has some sustainable attribute. The goal for 2025 is for 100% of own-brand products to have sustainable attributes. All in line with promoting responsible consumption, one of the sustainable development goals (SDG N°12) set by the UN and for which Paris has been working for over a decade.

About Celestial Consciousness

10 years ago, Paris took sustainability as its roadmap in order to reduce part of its environmental impact, mainly promoting the circular economy throughout its value chain. Actions such as No Bag Please, No more Catalogs, Don't print your ticket, and ReciCambio aim to change the way all Chileans shop and at the same time generate less impact on the environment; in the same line, the project Clothes x Clothes, has consolidated Paris as the leading retailer with concrete results in South America achieving more than a thousand tons of clothes collected and subsequently recycled. In addition, they have currently begun a partnership with Fashion Revolution which will allow them to track and trace their garments and subsequent recycling.
