Cencosud and Desafío Levantemos Chile join forces to support fire victims in Valparaíso Region

• Cencosud has worked together with Desafío Levantemos Chile to generate a solidarity campaign to support the reconstruction of the affected areas, strengthening collaboration between the private sector and social organizations.

February 26, 2024 - In response to the fire catastrophe in the Valparaíso Region, Cencosud, in partnership with Desafío Levantemos Chile, has collaborated with solidarity initiatives to help those affected, demonstrating its firm commitment to the community and the well-being of its employees and neighbors.

This strategic partnership seeks to provide, first, immediate assistance, but also to support the effective and sustainable reconstruction of devastated communities or areas.

The campaign still in force, called "Together in this Emergency" and initiated by Cencosud with its more than 48 thousand employees in Chile, will support both the company's workers who have been affected and the communities impacted in the area. The solidarity initiative includes direct contributions from Cencosud employees throughout Chile and an additional contribution from the company, resources that will be channeled in large part through Desafío Levantemos Chile.

This solidarity campaign is in addition to the efforts and coordination that the company has made from the first moment of the emergency to support its affected workers, with basic necessities, emotional support with specialists from Mutual de Seguridad and permanent support from the team of social workers.

In addition, Cencosud generated several collaborative actions, also from the initial moment of the emergency. Essential goods, cleaning and debris removal items, emergency kits and support items for volunteers were delivered. Then, a logistics center was set up at Easy Viña del Mar, collection centers were set up in shopping centers, and additional donations were made.

The company thanks all those who are helping to keep stores, stores, distribution centers and shopping centers open in the vicinity of the affected area, to the extent possible and supporting this contingency, always safeguarding the health and safety of our customers and employees.
