Cenco Challenge: Cencosud Peru Initiates Call for Startups

Lima, June 2023.- Leveraging the support and funding from ProInnóvate, a division of the Ministry of Production, Cencosud Peru is launching the "Cenco Challenge". This open innovation program is targeted at startups that foster circular transitions within the retail industry. The initiative aspires to address sustainability challenges in the sector through technological solutions in three pivotal areas:

• Product information traceability;
• Waste reduction; and
• Encouragement of responsible consumption among consumers.

Applicants should be legally established companies in their country of origin, offering innovative solutions that respond to any of the three aforementioned challenges. By participating in the "Cenco Challenge", entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to engage in an ambitious process aimed at propelling the circular economy within the retail industry through technology.

Upon selection of the winning solution, the feasibility of a pilot implementation will be assessed, in accordance with the startup's needs and progress. This will enable entrepreneurs to penetrate new markets and gain visibility in sectors that their proposal impacts.

It's important to highlight that "Cenco Challenge" is supported by USIL VENTURES and Wayra Hispam, entities recognized for their contributions to innovation and entrepreneurship in Latin America. Applications will be accepted until Friday, July 7th, and the selection of winning projects will occur on the 14th of the same month.
